Journalist claims Pochettino will sign Tottenham duo for Real Madrid

Harry Kane TEAMtalk

Mauricio Pochettino reportedly wants to take two top Tottenham stars to Real Madrid should he replace Zinedine Zidane at the helm.

Pochettino has been out of work since been sacked by Spurs just over a year go, although the Argentine has been linked with a number of top jobs in the meantime.

Without doubt the biggest position potentially becoming available is at the Bernabeu.

Pressure is mounting on Real boss Zinedine Zidane after a poor start to the LaLiga campaign. The Spanish giants did, however, book their place in the Champions League last 16 on Wednesday evening.

Pochettino’s links to Real have been banded around for some time, and it would appear that he could take some of his old Tottenham charges with him.

Journalist Luigi Guelpa told (as cited by Sport Witness) that Harry Kane and Dele Alli would both by Real targets if Pochettino took charge.

He said: “[Paulo] Dybala certainly remains (at Juventus) in January.

“In June I don’t know. Pochettino for Real Madrid gave the names of Kane and Alli, and the third is his.

“At the moment, Morata-Ronaldo is the couple that works best. But everyone is working in breathlessly right now with such close races. But Dybala will surely come in handy.”

Dele a possibility, Kane a big no

These certainly appear to be bold claims, particularly where Tottenham are concerned.

While Dele Alli could well be on the market in the new year, Daniel Levy will not part company with Kane for any price.

There have been rumours of bids of between £150-200m from Real for Kane in the past. However, the global pandemic has hit the Spanmish giants in the pocket, so those sorts of figures are unlikely.

Kane has been in magnificent form this season, with eight goals and 10 assists in the Premier League alone.

Dele, meanwhile, has fallen completely out of favour under Jose Mourinho and has been featuring in cup competitions.
