Pochettino gives update on chances of early Kane return

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino admitted that he is unsure if Harry Kane is ahead of schedule on his return from injury.

The England striker suffered ankle ligament damage on January 13 but posted a video on social media of him doing a workout.

Pochettino told a press conference ahead of Spurs‘ game with Newcastle on Saturday: “I cannot tell you if he is ahead of schedule or not. We assess him day by day.

“He is showing his social media and he looks strong and fit, running and doing exercises. He is very strong and gives 100 per cent to be back as soon as possible.

“He’s determined to be back as soon as possible and be available. We will see day by day but we are happy.”

According to a fanciful report in Spain, meanwhile, Real Madrid informed Spurs on deadline day of their willingness to make a move for Kane in the summer. Read the full story here…
