Pochettino in line to make £85m Spurs double swoop in January

Tottenham boss Maurico Pochettino could make an £85million double swoop in January after a blank summer.

Spurs failed to add to their squad in the pre-season, instead focusing on securing their stars on long-term contracts, but January could be different, according to reports.

Yesterday Spurs were reported to be ready to break their transfer record to sign Lyon star Tanguy Ndombele in January.

Pochettino was keen on signing the midfielder in the summer, but their £40m offer was rejected.

However, the Daily Mirror claim that Spurs are going to return with a fresh bid for the 21-year-old Ndombele when the transfer window re-opens.

But Spurs will not leave it there because there, they are also believed to be interested in Manchester United defender Eric Bailly.

Bailly played throughout pre-season and started the campaign alongside Victor Lindelof, but a disastrous performance against Brighton subsequently saw him dropped.

Metro reported that the defender ‘has felt marginalised by Mourinho ever since and believes he’s had to shoulder the blame for United’s poor start to the season’.

Now, the Daily Star claims that the Ivory Coast international is not happy with life at Old Trafford and could be tempted to leave the club in January.

The Express also claim Pochettino is a keen on Bailly and could move for the player, who was Mourinho’s first Man Utd signing in June 2016 for a fee of around £30million.
