Pochettino ready to fund Sessegnon move by ditching Tottenham duo

Ryan Sessegnon TEAMtalk

Mauricio Pochettino is considering ditching both Danny Rose and Kieran Trippier to help fund a move for Ryan Sessegnon, according to reports.

The Tottenham boss is known to be a huge admirer of the England Under-21 and Sessegnon is desperate to link up with the Argentine over the summer.

The 19-year-old is planning to leave the relegated Cottagers, although he may even play out the upcoming season before leaving on a free transfer next summer – although a tribunal would then become involved as he would still be under the age of 21.

The Cottagers reportedly want £45million for his signature but Tottenham are only willing to fork out £25m as it stands, with chairman Daniel Levy known to be a tough negotiator.

However, the Daily Mirror reports that Spurs could sell both their current full-backs as Pochettino looks towards the future.

He is open to letting Trippier leave after seeing his form subside badly last season, with Napoli and Juventus both said to be keen on the £30m-rated England star.

Rose could also be the victim of Sessegnon’s arrival and has already conceded that he could leave Spurs this summer.

Kieran Trippier TEAMtalk

The England left-back said recently: “I don’t know what the future holds now.

“I’m looking forward to a break. If I’m back at Tottenham next season, great, if I’m not – great. I’ll just have to wait and see.

“It’s not about regular first-team football.

“I know my age and I know how the club’s run in terms of if you get to a certain age they might look to ship you on.”
