Pochettino reveals talks with Christian Eriksen over his state of mind

Christian Eriksen TEAMtalk

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he had talks with Christian Eriksen to make sure the midfielder was mentally ready to start the North London derby on Sunday.

Erisken‘s future has been the subject of continued speculation throughout the summer, following comments the Danish international made about favouring a new challenge away from Tottenham.

The midfielder has been linked with Real Madrid over the past few weeks, but Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of Sunday’s clash with Arsenal, Pochettino insisted that Eriksen is in the “right frame of mind”.

Yes, I was talking with him after the training session yesterday and he’s with us and of course, he’s in the right frame of mind,” the manager said.

Discussing the transfer saga surrounding the Dane and discussing whether he might leave before the European transfer window shuts, the Argentine continued: “Everything is nearly impossible, but we cannot say it’s completely impossible because there’s still one day.”

The latest report indicates that one club is out of the running to sign Eriksen, but that another top European heavyweight still have their eye on the playmaker.
