Pochettino to sell six and wants £150m for new Spurs signings
Mauricio Pochettino will reportedly outline his £150million plans for Tottenham’s future in crunch meetings with chairman Daniel Levy.
Spurs secured a top-three finish after their thrilling 5-4 win over Leicester on Sunday and afterwards Pochettino insisted that the club needs to “take risks” to go to the next level.
The Argentine, who is being linked with a shock switch to replace Antonio Conte at Chelsea, will hold talks with Levy over the summer and the key part of those negotiations is said to centre around Pochettino wanting a £150m transfer fund to keep the club in the top four.
Matt Law’s report in the Daily Telegraph claims that Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose and Mousa Dembele could all leave, while Victor Wanyama, Fernando Llorente and Moussa Sissoko also have major doubts over their futures.
Pochettinho, however, is desperate to keep the spine of his team in Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen, Eric Dier and Hugo Lloris, and will more than likely sign a new £8.5m-a-year contract if that happens.
In terms of the players he wants to sign, the report goes on to state that £50m-rated Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha, Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon and Manchester United misfit Anthony Martial are at the top of Pochettino’s list.
There are also strong rumours that Spurs are after Benfica midfielder Bryan Cristante and Real Madrid star Mateo Kovacic, while Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt and Newcastle’s Jamaal Lascelles are are being tipped to replace Alderweield.
