Pogba reveals inspiration behind Newcastle win; looks ahead to Chelsea

Paul Pogba has praised the Old Trafford faithful for their 12th man affect, after Man Utd’s stunning 3-2 fightback against Newcastle before the international break.

The French World Cup winner was full of credit for United fans as, after being down 2-0 on 70 minutes, the Red Devils managed to fight back and snatch a win, that may have potentially saved the under-fire Jose Mourinho.

Pogba spoke to Sky Sports about the pride of his club: “I could hear all the fans pushing us. This is crazy but it was the 12th player, helped us a lot.

“You could hear the fans shouting, pushing, even when there’s a throw-in they were behind us. It was crazy, it was like really fire.”

Manchester United now face a difficult run of fixtures, starting with Chelsea on Saturday, but the Man Utd midfielder has found some inspiration ahead of the game.

“For me, those games are the best games to play. You play against the best players, you play against a big club, a big story.

“You play football to play those big games with a lot of pressure. That’s what you want to play.”
