Portsmouth v York preview

admin

Portsmouth will be without up to nine players when they bring the curtain down on their season at home to York.

Nyron Nosworthy is struggling with a hamstring problem, fellow defender Josh Passley remains a doubt after suffering concussion and striker Ryan Taylor has a groin injury.

Centre-halves Jack Whatmough (knee), Ben Chorley (back) and player of the year Paul Robinson (cheekbone) are still out along with full-back Danny East (hamstring), winger Andy Barcham and forward Tom Craddock (both knee).

Youngsters Adam May and Conor Chaplin were on the bench at Mansfield last week and are set to be in the squad again.

York defender Dave Winfield will return to contention following suspension.

Winfield has missed the last three games after being sent off in the recent home win against Hartlepool and boss Russ Wilcox must decide whether to recall him or stick with John McCombe and Keith Lowe at the heart of defence.

Midfielder Josh Carson will play no part as he is still recovering from severe concussion sustained last month during a night out on Merseyside.

Skipper Russell Penn is expected to shake off a knock that forced him out of last week’s home defeat to Newport.
