Reported Manchester United target Bruno Fernandes has revealed that he would rather play for Liverpool than Manchester City.

Recent reports have suggested that City are closing in on a move for the Portugal international, who has a €100m release clause.

Speculation the emerged that United are hoping that a deal for Fernandes could be completed ‘within the next week’ with a serious approach planned.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who has scored an incredible 32 goals and made 18 assists in his 53 appearances for the Portuguese giants this season.

Fernandes recently stated that he is not paying any attention to rumours of interest from the Premier League, and is instead focusing on his country’s upcoming Nations League campaign.

However, he has now dropped a hint over his future, in the process issuing a ‘come and get me’ please to Liverpool.

“I like Liverpool a lot more [than Man City],” the 24-year-old stated. “It’s a more direct [style of play], more offensive, maybe less organised, but more intense football.”

Liverpool have arguably not sourced a direct replacement for Philippe Coutinho since his £142m move to Barcelona, though they have also been linked once again with a move for Nabil Fekir.
