Real Madrid have a huge summer budget of €500million as Zinedine Zidane looks to overhaul his squad, according to Fabio Capello.

Los Blancos have had a turbulent season this time around, with the club currently sat in fourth place in LaLiga and having been dumped out of the Champions League in the last 16.

The club is widely expected to invest and overhaul an ageing squad, with links to Premier League trio Eden Hazard, Sadio Mane, Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba and Christian Eriksen – among others.

Capello, who coach Real in both the 1996-97 and 2006-07 seasons, believes that they have more than enough budget to pull off a marquee signing or two.

“I was in Barcelona and I was told that this year Real Madrid have €500m to spend,” Capello said to Sky Sports Italy.

“I asked, ‘Are you sure?’

“The answer was yes and that came from someone who knows a lot about Real Madrid.”
