David Alaba has put Premier League clubs on alert by hinting that he could leave Bayern Munich in the next few years.
The 25-year-old currently has a contract with the Bundesliga side until 2021 and has been a key man for Bayern since his breakthrough into the first team.
According to the Daily Mirror, Barcelona are the favourites to sign him should he choose to leave, while Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all keeping tabs on him, as well as Real Madrid.
Those clubs have now been boosted, as Alaba has now admitted that he may not stay with the Bavarian giants for his entire career, and may look for a new challenge.
“I am aware that this decision will come to me,” he told Austrian newspaper Kurier.
“I still feel very comfortable here, but I can also imagine taking a different path, taking the next step or looking for a new challenge.
“But I leave that decision open. I have goals for this season that I want to achieve, so there’s no room for that right now.”
