Gareth Bale is not interested in leaving Real Madrid for Manchester United or Chelsea, according to reports in Spain.

The Welsh winger has long been linked with a return to the Premier League, and rumours have intensified due to Bale having failed to start Real’s last two La Liga matches.

Reports have even linked Bale with a sensational return to Tottenham, which would see Christian Eriksen move the other way.

However, AS claim that the 29-year-old has no intention of leaving the Bernabeu despite his recent struggles. The report states that Bale is happy to stay in Madrid until his contract expires in 2022.

The La Liga giants may have other ideas though, with the report continuing that Real would be prepared to cash in on the forward if an appropriate offer came in. The club have not held discussions with Bale over his future, so his long-term credentials with Los Blancos may be in doubt.

Earlier this week, it arose that Real president Florentino Perez has lowered Bale’s asking price from €150m to €120m.

Despite this, Bale remains insistent on getting back to his best form and fighting for his place in the starting lineup.
