Newly-promoted Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly eyeing a Liverpool defender to boost their defence for next season.
The Premier League new boys are preparing for their first campaign in the competition, and local paper The Argus states that the Seagulls are interested in Gomez.
The 20-year-old defender made just three appearances for the senior team last season, all in the FA Cup, as he continues his recovery from a ruptured ACL.
He finds himself behind Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren, Ragnar Klavan and Lucas Leiva in the current central defender pecking order.
Chris Hughton’s side have already been linked with two other Liverpool players this summer, namely Lucas and Kevin Stewart.
The report claims that Gomez could be sent out on loan this season in order to get more playing time, but he could also be set for more first-team opportunities next season too. However, the idea of selling the England U23 international does not seem feasible.
