Stoke City striker Tyrese Campbell could be set to move to a Premier League club after turning down moves to Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers, according to reports.

The 20-year-old forward, son of former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell, made headlines again on Monday after scoring the match-winner for the Potters in a 1-0 win over Championship table-toppers West Bromwich Albion.

He has been a frequent fixture of the gossip columns over the January transfer window, with title rivals Celtic and Rangers said to be interested alongside Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace.

But Scottish outlet the Daily Record report that Campbell has personally informed both Celtic and Rangers that he was thankful for their interest, but that he is planning to remain south of the border.

That doesn’t rule out a move to a Premier League club this January, while a host of clubs will almost certainly be tracking his development with his current contract set to expire in the summer, leading to the possibility of him becoming available on a free.

However, he appeared to suffer a hamstring injury after scoring the early opener against West Brom, which could potentially throw a spanner in the works for any side looking for an immediate injection of goals.

Since Michael O’Neill became Stoke boss, he’s made Campbell a mainstay of the Potters forward line, stepping up with four goals in his last six appearances.

The Northern Ireland manager recently confirmed that the ball is in Campbell’s court with regards to his future at the Stadium, with him offered an enhanced new contract.

It’s been suggested that the youngster’s major motivation is playing for a club that will give him first-team minutes. With that increasingly becoming the case at Stoke in recent weeks, don’t rule out the possibility of him staying put.
