Aston Villa are ready to give Kalvin Phillips a colossal pay rise if he pushes for a move away from Leeds, according to a report.
The Premier League new-boys are believed to have made a £15million bid to try and sign Phillips this summer and are not willing to go beyond that.
Leeds have offered a new deal 23-year-old midfielder, however it was recently claimed that Phillips is willing to sit it out at Elland Road this season, which would see him wind down his deal to a remaining 12 months.
Now, Football Insider have offered an update on the situation by claiming that Villa are ready to up the stakes in their pursuit of the Leeds-born midfielder.
They state that the Villains are ready to offer Phillips a whopping £60,000 a week deal, which is six times what he currently earns at Leeds.
Glenn Whelan and Mile Jedinak have already left Villa Park, and while Douglas Luiz has arrived from Manchester City, they are still in need of midfield depth.
Villa boss Dean Smith has already splashed more than £100m on 10 new players since winning promotion back to England’s top flight in May.
