PSG grow confident of beating Chelsea, Barcelona to €50m Arsenal star

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette Arsenal TEAMtalk

Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Arsenal, according to reports in France.

Aubameyang is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract at the Emirates Stadium, and as such, he has been linked with a move away from the club this summer – despite being their captain.

The likes of Real Madrid and Inter Milan have been linked with the Gabon international striker, who has scored 17 goals in 26 Premier League appearances this season.

However, Le10 Sport claim that Ligue 1 giants PSG are also interested in Aubameyang, as they look to bolster their attack for next season.

Edinson Cavani is out of contract at the Parc Des Princes at the end of the season, while the club reportedly have just 10 days to inform Inter Milan if they wish to sign Mauro Icardi permanently following his loan – a player himself suggested as a replacement for Aubameyang for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Although they have not yet opened formal negotiations, PSG believe that Aubameyang would be a good value-for-money replacement if they can sign him for somewhere between €40m and €50m – while they are also more confident of matching his salary demands than Inter are.

A move back to the country of his birth would see Aubameyang playing in Ligue 1 for the first time since 2013, when he left Saint-Ettiene for Borussia Dortmund.

There is still a chance that Aubameyang could remain in the Premier League, with London rivals Chelsea having been linked with a bid – while Barcelona are keen to take him to La Liga for the first time in his career.
