PSG team-mate claims Neymar hit by culture shock in Ligue 1
Javier Pastore says Neymar has had a culture shock at Paris Saint-Germain this season, but claims he does not think he will leave this summer.
Pastore, 28, has rejected the idea of Neymar leaving the Ligue 1 leaders, but has admitted the Brazil star was “not expecting this climate” and suggests that PSG are not at the level of his previous club Barcelona.
“When Neymar arrived, he was very enthusiastic,” Pastore told Onda Cero’s ‘Radio Estadio’ . “However, this club is not yet at the same level as Barcelona.
“It is also not the same thing when you are playing in Spain compared with the stadiums here.
“I do not think that Neymar was expecting this climate. His injury is a setback, but he will get back to his best at the highest level.
“I do not think that Neymar will leave. I see it as more of a media game than real desire on his part to move.”
Pastore, who gave up the No. 10 shirt when Neymar arrived for £199million last summer also said big changes are likely at PSG this summer.
“I think that a lot of changes will be made ahead of next season,” he added. “This campaign, [sporting director] Antero [Henrique] came in and he has not been able to do what he wanted – he needed time to get to know the team.
“There will be changes. Many players are coming to the ends of their contracts. The club must decide what to do with these players.”
