Pundit accuses Pogba of disrespecting Man Utd in scathing attack

Former Premier League star Dean Saunders has told Paul Pogba to do his talking on the pitch amid reports of unhappiness at Manchester United.

Mourinho regularly clashed with the midfielder last season after the Frenchman failed to find his best form.

However, was handed the captaincy and responded with what Mourinho called a “monster performance” in their 2-1 opening day success over Leicester City.

A report from The Sun however claimed that Pogba told reporters after United’s 2-1 win over Leicester last Friday: “There are things I can say and there are things that I cannot say, otherwise I will get fine.”

And an angry Jose Mourinho apparently responded: “If you wish to leave Manchester, again, all you have to do is ask for a transfer.”

Now, Saunders has responded to the rumours, hitting out at Pogba for talking too much and not focusing on the team.

“I just think you do your talking on the pitch,” Saunders said on TalkSport.

“When you’re a player, you are employed by the club to play football on the pitch for the club to the best of your ability.

“Not to say loose, ridiculous, damaging statements which affect the group.

“The manager has got a bit of responsibility as well. He can’t be going round saying ‘well the chairman is not giving me any money’ – that kills the group and the club and upsets the fans.

“This coming out in the press, if it keeps happening don’t speak to them. Don’t speak to the press then. If you keep saying things and it’s getting you in trouble, don’t speak to them or have an organised press conference and just make sure you don’t say anything that’s derogatory.

“They’re obviously just throwing little hand grenades in at each other and it looks like it’s going to end up with Pogba leaving. That’s what it looks like from the outside.

“Things are positive, they got off to a great start. Why come out and say I can’t say too much incase I get fined which is just a comment I’d be raging if I was the manager. Why throw that comment in?

“It’s got to stop, it’s disrespectful to the club, it’s a great club don’t disrespect Man Utd.

“You’re just a player, you come and go.”
