Man Utd told January signing that’ll guarantee Premier League title glory

Manchester United have been told they could not fail to win the Premier League title this season were they to break the bank for one striker signing in January.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have overcome a wobbly start to move level on points with Liverpool at the top. Indeed, the Red Devils can move clear at the top if they win their game in hand – at Burnley – on Tuesday.

United then make the trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on Sunday in a potentially-decisive week.

Their good form has increased speculation they could look to make a blockbuster signing to help get them over the line.

They have brought in winger Amad Diallo for £37m. Solskjaer has been told the United new boy can form a devastating understanding with another young gun at Old Trafford.

However, Gabriel Agbonlahor has told United they can ‘guarantee’ Premier League glory if they break the bank to sign Erling Haaland.

United came close to landing him for just £18m last winter. He’s since gone on to strength to strength at Borussia Dortmund. Now Agbonlaor, speaking to talkSPORT, thinks the time to sign him is now.

“He’s the most complete striker out there for me,” Agbonlahor said. “We’re talking about Premier League clubs wanting him; I think Bayern Munich or Real Madrid are the favourites to get him.

“I feel like Borussia Dortmund can ask for whatever they want. If you’re talking about £100million for Sancho, you’re talking £180m for Haaland.

“You’re talking ridiculous money. He’ll be the most expensive player ever when he leaves Dortmund because he’s getting better.

“He’s learning, he looks hungry. He’s not happy just to be at Dortmund and score goals, he’s trying to improve his game and he’s going to get better and better.”

Erling Haaland would guarantee goals at United

United have retained an interest in the 20-year-old striker since his move.

However, his relationship with super-agent Mino Raiola looks to have made the move difficult for Solskjaer’s side.

Agbonlahor, though, thinks United need to find a way past that if they’re to win a first Premier League title since 2013.

He added: “You look at the Premier League teams that could do with him now; Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, they could all do with him.

“What would he do for any of those clubs now? If they had him in January, whoever signed him would win the league.”
