Rangers have submitted a new bid for unsettled Liverpool winger Ryan Kent, according to reports.
Kent flourished in a successful loan spell with Steven Gerrard’s side last season, scoring six goals in 27 league appearances and adding a further four assists.
Despite his repeated assertions that he wants to leave Liverpool to settle down at a club, the Reds have been blocking his return to Glasgow because Rangers have been unable to meet their £10m asking price.
However, the Gers are still pushing to try and secure a return for Kent, with Football Insider claiming they have submitted a new offer, of a loan with an obligation to buy for £6m.
Such a move would eventually be Rangers’ most expensive signing since 2002, when they signed future Everton and Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta from Barcelona for around £5.8m.
They remain locked in talks with Liverpool – who are not keen on the idea of sending Kent out on loan again – over the potential deal, which they have until September 2nd to complete.
