Chelsea v Liverpool player ratings: Coutinho shines

Philippe Coutinho: Has impressive record against Manchester City

Philippe Coutinho: Has impressive record against Manchester City

Philippe Coutinho earned the man of the match award and recorded the highest average rating – but the numbers make rather less pleasant reading for Eden Hazard.

Coutinho netted twice as Liverpool came from behind to beat Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge and heap further pressure on Jose Mourinho.

Not everyone was united in their admiration of Coutinho. The Daily Mirror‘s John Cross awarded the Brazilian a 7/10 – the same score as James Milner, who was substituted and earned the lowest average rating in Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Milner was certainly not the worst player on the pitch, though. Chelsea’s struggling star Hazard gets that dubious honour.
