Real Madrid star Marco Asensio has revealed that he never considered leaving the Bernabeu despite links with the Premier League.

Reports in the Spanish press had claimed that that Liverpool had lodged a €180m bid for the Spain star, while Chelsea were also linked with a move.

Asensio also previously admitted he was due for talks with new Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui after the conclusion of Spain’s World Cup.

He also failed to close the door on a potential Real exit in the near future in an interview last month.

“My first option is always to triumph at Real Madrid. After that, you never know what can happen,” he told GQ.

Now however the 22-year-old has once again addressed rumours about his future, claiming he never considered a move.

Asensio told reporters: “I’ve never had the intention to go anywhere.

“This is my third season, in this one I think I have continuity and more prominence, and I’m seeing the performance I’m doing.”
