The 24-year-old joins the Sky Bet League 1 outfit on a two-year deal, with the option of a third, after an undisclosed fee was agreed between the two clubs.

Redshaw told the club’s official website: “I like the way the gaffer is trying to build the club and wants it moving in the right direction.

“I think the time is right to step up into League 1, I’m confident in my own ability and want to be successful with Blackpool.”

Shrimps boss Jim Bentley added on the League 2 club’s website: “We gave Jack a chance when we signed him from Altrincham and he has more than repaid our faith in him.

“He has developed into a top goal scorer and has come on in leaps and bounds as a player and I know he will do well at a higher level.

“We obviously wouldn’t want to lose a player like Jack but we would never stand in the way of any player if we thought it was a good step for them in their career.

“He is still only young and is getting stronger all the time and I’m sure he will make his mark in League 1.”

Redshaw leaves Morecambe having scored 38 goals in 129 appearances.
