Loic Remy is set to leave Chelsea before the transfer window closes next week, with the striker said to fancy a return to Newcastle.
The striker is likely to be allowed to leave for Stamford Bridge, with Brazil star Pato set to join the Blues in the coming days.
Leicester are understood to be interested in France forward Remy, who has played a peripheral role for the Blues this season, having started only one Premier League game and featured for only 177 minutes.
Crystal Palace are also reported to be monitoring the 29-year-old’s situation, but according to the Daily Mail, Remy’s preference is for a return to St James’ Park, where he scored 14 goals in 26 appearances while on loan from QPR in 2013-14.
Second-from-bottom Newcastle are desperate to add a striker to their ranks, with Saido Berahino and Alexandre Lacazette among their targets.
