Cavani convinces Man Utd trio to hold Kane talks with rousing dressing room speech – report

Three Manchester United players will use part of their time with England at Euro 2020 to hold transfer talks with Harry Kane, a report claims.

The Tottenham striker has set himself up this week to become one of this summer window’s key protagonists. Reports on Monday claimed that he has told Spurs that he wants to leave the club. Meanwhile, he revealed to Gary Neville that he plans to have an honest conversation with chairman Daniel Levy.

Furthermore, he admitted that he would love to play alongside Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne.

Tottenham released a statement trying to deflect the rumours, a move which interim boss Ryan Mason also made. Nevertheless, talk of a move to City, Manchester United and Chelsea is growing.

According to The Sun, United trio Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford will use their strong ties to Kane to tempt him to move to Old Trafford.

The trio are certainties to feature in Gareth Southgate’s squad, which he announces on Tuesday.

In fact, the four players could be together for up to six weeks this summer; England play friendlies against Austria and Romania before the tournament starts on June 11.

However, Maguire, Shaw and Rashford are not the only ones keen on seeing Kane line up for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, with Edinson Cavani playing a key role in the United dressing room.

Gabby Agbonlahor told Super Sunday Matchday he is not surprised that Harry Kane will ask to leave Tottenham this summer if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

A source told The Sun: “All the players have been discussing Harry leaving Spurs. The English players plan to work on him when they meet up.

“They know how good he is and though he would present competition to someone like Marcus, they are excited at the thought of playing with him.

“Edinson has not been shy in telling everyone how highly he rates him. His English isn’t great – but he can get his message across.

“Harry is a similar kind of player, so all the players think he would fit well into their system as they like to play on the counter-attack, like Spurs do.”

As well as telling Spurs that he wants to leave, the striker has also reportedly told the club that he wants to stay in the Premier League.

Chelsea emerge as Kane contenders

As a result, speculation has emerged about the sort of deal that could tempt Spurs into selling.

A transfer could involve players-plus-cash offers, with one pundit claiming that United should offer Fred and Anthony Martial.

Meanwhile, ESPN has claimed that Chelsea are willing to offer three players of their own to keep Kane in London.
