Report claims Tottenham star ‘stormed out of stadium’ after HT inquest

Serge Aurier; Harry Kane TEAMtalk

Tottenham players were involved in a fiery half-time inquest during the loss to Liverpool on Thursday night, with one star reportedly storming out of the stadium.

Spurs went down 3-1 to the reigning Premier League champions in north London in a performance littered with defensive errors.

One such error led to Roberto Firmino’s opener just before half-time. And the Daily Mail claims that sparked angry exhanges between players at the break.

Jose Mourinho decided he had seen enough and took off Serge Aurier and injured skipper Harry Kane, with Harry Winks and Erik Lamela coming on.

However, Aurier reportedly took offence to be hauled off, with the Ivory Coast star storming out of the stadium.

Speaking before the Mail learned of Aurier’s exit, Mourinho said of the half-time team talk:”‘It was the mood of team. That was difficult to accept you are losing.

“It’s difficult to accept the nature of the goal because the goal is in some aspects a replica of the chance they had in the first minute. So it’s, of course, a mood where people is not happy.”

Spurs face anxious Kane wait

The make matters worse for Tottenham, Kane looks set for an extended spell on the sidelines.

The England skipper suffered blows to both ankles and could not carry on, with Spurs now awaiting the diagnosis.

Kane’s joints were both swollen as he left the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, sparking major concern.

And Mourinho added: “For Harry to leave a game, when he wants to play always and with the team losing, for Harry to come out is not a nothing injury.

“It’s an injury. For how long I can’t tell you, I don’t know. We have to wait and see.”
