Nathaniel Clyne: Still feeling positive

La Liga giants Barcelona are ready to make a shock bid for Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne, according to reports.

Clyne joined Liverpool from Southampton last year and has been impressive both defensively and as an attack-minded full-back.

He has been an ever-present under Jurgen Klopp and the Reds hierarchy would no doubt be loathe to let one of their star players leave.

However, the Daily Mirror claims that Barca are preparing a £20million offer for the England international as they continue their search for a suitable right-back.

Aleix Vidal joined the Catalans from Sevilla as a replacement for Dani Alves – who joined Juventus in the summer – but the Spaniard has fallen out of favour with Luis Enrique and midfielder Sergi Roberto is being used as a makeshift full-back.

Clyne still has a contract to run until 2020 and it is likely to take a huge bid for Liverpool to think about parting company with the 25-year-old.
