Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is mulling over a move for Barcelona keeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, according to reports.
Guardiola’s decision to let Joe Hart go out on loan to Serie A side Torino is still haunting him with new signing Claudio Bravo not impressing so far in his first spell in England.
Bravo has been replaced by Willy Caballero for Premier League matches as City still look shaky at the back.
The Daily Mail claims that Guardiola wants to test Barcelona’s resolve by making an attempt to sign Ter Stegen in the summer.
The Manchester City boss was trying to buy the German all last summer until he settled on bringing in Bravo and Guardiola is understood to have accepted that the keeper situation needs sorting in the next transfer window.
Hart was sacrificed as he wasn’t regarded as a sweeper keeper and struggled to fit into Guardiola’s way of playing.
And now the club are thought to be aiming to use £20million from his future sale to fund a £30million bid for Ter Stegen this summer.
