The agent of Newcastle United youngster Rodrigo Vilca has indicated that his client may look to go out on loan to gain valuable first-team experience.
Vilca has hit one goal and has one assist to his name in seven Premier League 2 matches this season. However, he hasn’t done enough to convince Bruce to hand him a first-team berth.
With that in mind, the Shields Gazette reports that the player himself and his representatives are eager for him to kick on as soon as possible – with a senior Peru cap on Vilca’s radar.
Speaking to Peruvian outlet Futbol Peruano, Vilca’s agent, Elio Casareto, said: “The Premier League is very competitive and he needs minutes in Europe, because the national team is also following him.”
At this stage, it would that Casareto is only hinting at a temporary exit for the young attacking midfielder.
Indeed, the player still has his heart set on playing for Newcastle’s first team. He is keen on emulating fellow South American Miguel Almiron.
Casareto added: “The idea, hopefully, is to replace Miguel Almiron in the number ten position.
“But he still needs the experience of a first team in Europe to complement what he is doing.”

He was jettisoned after receiving a four-month worldwide ban for breaching betting rules. It was a sad end to his stay in Turkey after the England man had scored four goals from 11 Super Lig appearances.
He bagged another three in domestic cup competitions but has now been out of the game for 11 months. Read more…
