Former Bundesliga star claims to have inside knowledge of Man City deal

Former Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller has hinted that Leroy Sane is closer than ever to a move to Bayern Munich.
Manchester City winger Sane has been on the radar of the German champions for years, although the Premier League outfit have repeatedly rebuffed any attempt to snatch him away.
Despite the player’s interest in the move, Bayern are yet to make an offer close to what City would require to consider allowing Sane to leave – but that may be about to change.
Five-time Germany international Weidenfeller, who retired in 2018 after 16 seasons with Dortmund, has now claimed to have been told that a move to Bayern for Sane is “almost certain”.
Explaining to Sport1 (via Goal) that “as a former player, you also have a few sources,” Weidenfeller believes it is only a matter of time before Sane returns to his homeland.
And the potential transfer was praised by current Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski earlier this week, when the Poland international said Sane “could certainly help us find new solutions in our game”.
Sane is without a Premier League appearance this season due to a serious ligament injury suffered during the Community Shield penalty shoot-out win over Liverpool back in August.
Liverpool was even suggested as a shock destination for Sane if he was deemed surplus to requirements at City, but a move to Bayern seems far more likely.
