Sakho clear to join another Prem club after Sevilla dismissal

Mamadou Sakho: In demand
Sevilla manager Jorge Sampaoli has revealed the club are not close to signing Liverpool’s frozen-out defender Mamadou Sakho in January.
The La Liga outfit have been strongly linked with a move for the Frenchman, who hasn’t featured at all for the Reds after being sent home early from their pre-season tour of the USA.
Liverpool have reportedly slapped a £20million price tag on the centre-back, but it appears it may well be a Premier League club who meets their demands following the pessimistic comments made by the Sevilla boss.
“I don’t know if we will modify our squad again,” Sampaoli said. “Now, I think that we won’t reinforce more positions.
“We thought about signing another centre-back because [Daniel] Carrico had surgery, but it will be complicated.”
Southampton seems to be the most likely destination for Sakho as they look set to lose captain Jose Fonte, while struggling Swansea are another potential option.
