Salah treatment could see United go over Jose’s head with Shaw

Manchester United may go against Jose Mourinho’s wish to see Luke Shaw sold this summer, with the club mindful of his treatment of Mohamed Salah while at Chelsea.

The Liverpool forward has proved one of the players of the season after banging in 36 goals in 41 appearances so far. The Egyptian’s form this season has seen his value elevate him into the £150million bracket – despite being written off without being given a proper chance under Mourinho at Chelsea.

In fact. Salah isn’t the first player to be cast adrift by Mourinho, with Kevin De Bruyne and to a lesser extent Romelu Lukaku all being allowed to move on for relatively modest fees.

And with Shaw seemingly set to fall by the wayside this summer after becoming something of a fall guy under Mourinho, a report claims United bosses could yet go against their manager’s wishes and keep the player.

That’s according to the Manchester Evening News, who suggest the 22-year-old may not leave after all, regardless of what happens with Mourinho.

The Old Trafford hierarchy are supposedly big fans of Shaw – even if his manager is not.

Shaw has been linked with moves to Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea and even Liverpool in recent weeks, while on Tuesday it was suggested Barcelona were also considering rescuing him from his Old Trafford misery.
