Salah won’t be Liverpool’s biggest miss; Arsenal striker upgrade suggested

BOURNEMOUTH, ENGLAND - DECEMBER 17: Mohamed Salah of Liverpool celebrates with teammates Georginio Wijnaldum and Andy Robertson after scoring his sides third goal during the Premier League match between AFC Bournemouth and Liverpool at Vitality Stadium on December 17, 2017 in Bournemouth, England. Arsenal fans suggest they wouldn’t miss Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as much as some may think if the striker left, Liverpool supporters wonder how they’ll line up without Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson, and Manchester United readers make a case for keeping Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager – all in Your Says of the Day.

HAALAND TO ARSENAL SUGGESTED

With Auba not signing a contract and apparently waiting for Barca this would be very good tho cant see it happening….

what i do like abut him as much as his goal scoring record is the real passion and aggression he shows, we sure need some of that!

Tbh I’m tired of people saying due to the position we are in Players like Auba and laca will leave. We’ve had far better players in a similar situation than them.If any of those two want to leave, they can get lost.No player is bigger than the club. They might be good strikers but they aren’t legends. And although they’re the best of the current lot,I can point out a number of occasions where they’ve failed to step up.
Big occasions.I also saw recently in a game I think against palace where for the zaha penalty, when the keeper hoofed the ball up,those two were literally walking putting no pressure in the front. There are just some things you can’t blame the manager for.

Haaland is a good shout. His stats are on another level.I don’t watch the austrian league so can’t comment much but he’s too big.Is he quick? Will we be getting a giroud type striker?

Thing is though,I feel every player is replacable in the current squad. However,I really want to focus on our midfield.I think we should make a signing in Jan itself.

TSO – I’m a bit surprised about your stance on Auba and Laca. I agree no-one is bigger than the club and that they are not legends but at the moment I would argue that they are absolutely critical to us. Given that he’s been starved of service I think his goals have been the only thing that’s kept us from being in a worse position than the spuds league wise. Losing them would be an absolute disaster and no one can argue against that.

I noticed that Torreira is making noises about his unhappiness and suddenly Emery is trying to placate Xhaka. It’s probably all noise but everything is in such a mess it would not surprise me!

have to say i more with TSO on this one

dont get me wrong i love auba, but the lad is 31 and one year left on contract and now stalling to sign a new one, get some dosh for him and buy for the future with the likes of Haaland…
Auba wont last forever and good as he is has plenty of off days too… i think its just poor timing for him with us, wrong manager and players and atmosphere

we need to continue the revamp with youth and a decent maneger that can use them correctly

i bet tor wouldnt be wanting to leave if he had been played more aqnd in the right position when he did play…

we are a DECENT manager and one GOOD (supported by the board) summer window away from being a decent top 4 side that can push on for more

especially with an ageing city side and a pool that IMHO are not strengthining when they should and are also getting older as a squad…

be a big shake up in the PL in a few years and the right clubs can take full advantage but it takes a real plan, cash and whole lot of luck!

ROBERTSON BIGGER MISS FOR LIVERPOOL THAN SALAH

Looks 50/50 to me. If Mo isn’t fit then I’d like to see/expect this line-up:

Alisson
Trent
Lovren
Virgil
Milner
Fabinho
Wijnaldum
Ox
Origi
Firmino
Mane

Rob Fort Worth TX

As said previously, if there’s a doubt over Salah or indeed Robbo we should look at the bigger pic here and rest them for this game and aim to have them fit for the Napoli game.

Without Robbo we arguably lose our shape and attacking threat more than If Salah is out

POCH WOULDN’T BE UPGRADE FOR MAN UTD

Why would Poch be successful? His record of winning trophies isn’t up to much. With a worse squad at their disposal Van Gaal and Mourinho delivered at least a trophy.

Sacking Ole at this point would make us look like crazed shoppers at a Black Friday sale. It would also further damage our player morale and our credibility with investors and potential sponsors.

Ole has been appointed and is smack bang in the middle of making wholesale changes to the squad. So far he’s hollowed it out (sold or loaned out useless senior players on high wages) and brought down our ridiculous wage bill. It’s only fair that we allow him to replace the players he forced out before judging him (assuming results remain marginally acceptable as they have been). SO far we are barely scraping by but this period is allowing us to sift through the young players who have potential and those who don’t. It’s also allowing us to free up some money for the CAPEX and wages we will do to replace the senior players that were removed.

I would argue Pochettino is a far better coach and manager than Ole (their CVs speak for themselves) but we have invested in a project and we must see it through.

We need to stick with Ole. We need to have a plan and stick to it and that plan won’t have included sack the manager when another manager becomes available.

Ole is not the best manager around but our main issue is lack of quality in the team, changing the manager won’t affect that.
