Arsenal opened up their shortened pre-season programme with a 4-1 win at MK Dons on Tuesday evening.
William Saliba impressed as the Gunners cruised to victory in their only outing before Saturday’s Community Shield against Liverpool.
Arsenal flew out of the traps and were two goals to the good inside the opening 10 minutes at Stadium MK.
Mohamed Elneny gave Mikel Arteta’s men the lead in the fifth minute with a thunderous strikce, before Eddie Nketiah doubled their advantage five minutes later after a flowing counter-attack.
The home side hit back just after the half-hour when Rob Holding put through his own net with a diving header.
However, Arsenal doubled their advantage again with 14 minutes to go when substitute Mark McGuinness powered home a fine header.
And a comfortable win was wrapped up in the 85th when Reiss Nelson scored from the spot after he was brought down in the area.
