Alexis Sanchez TEAMtalk

Man Utd have finally shifted Alexis Sanchez from the books after Inter chief Beppe Marotta revealed the club will formally announce his acquisition on Thursday morning.

Sanchez, 31, endured a torrid spell at Old Trafford following his highly-publicised 2018 arrival from Arsenal

A loss of form and fitness typified his struggles, and the Chilean was loaned out to Inter ahead of the 2019/20 season.

His initial impact was minimal, but after overcoming a lengthy injury, Sanchez regained his previous attacking prowess.

Three goals and seven assists were plundered since the restart, and Inter were impressed enough to pull the trigger on a permanent move.

That move now appears to have been completed, with Inter CEO Beppe Marotta revealing that Sanchez is now “entirely owned by Inter”.

Speaking to Sky Sport in Italy (via the MEN), Marotta said: “Unofficially, we’ll make it official tomorrow morning,”

“The player is entirely owned by Inter. We have a contract with him for three seasons.

“We believe in him, that he can be a strong part of this squad and are happy to have concluded this deal.”

Ridding the books of Sanchez’s enormous salary will aid the club in their quest to sign top target Jadon Sancho.

Though the latest news to come from Germany painted a rather bleak picture regarding progress in negotiations.

The Red Devils have reportedly submitted a £49million bid for Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa.

The Italy international scored 10 goals in 34 Serie A appearances this season.
