Sancho turned by Liverpool after teasing Alexander-Arnold message

Jadon Sancho TEAMtalk

It would appear that Trent Alexander-Arnold is responsible for Jadon Sancho turning his head towards a move to Liverpool again.

The Borussia Dortmund attacker has been destined to sign for Manchester United, with Ole Gunnasr Solskjaer’s men ready to pay up to £100million for the youngster.

United boosted their hopes of landing Sancho when they secured Champions League football on the final day of the campaign.

But a report from Germany claims Sancho is not that keen on heading to Old Trafford, adding that he would much sooner turn out in the red of Liverpool.

According to Kicker, via the Daily Mirror, Sancho believes he has a much better chance of winning silverware at Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are the current Premier League and Champions League holders, while United are in transition.

The current speculation has seemingly come out of the blue, but the signs were there back in May.

Reds defender Alexander-Arnold took part in an Instagram Live a couple of months ago, where he spoke to actor Michael Dapaah.

The Dortmund attacker was watching the video and heard the Liverpool right-back say: “If [Sancho] he came to us, he’d make our team better.

“So I’d be more than happy for him to come. I played with him for England and he’s a special, special, special, special talent.”

Responding to Alexander-Arnold’s comment, Sancho posted four sideways eyes emojis. That was to make sure the Liverpool star knew he heard what he said.

Liverpool bid remains highly unlikely

But two months on, Sancho continues to be linked with a switch to Merseyside.

The one problem for Sancho, and his dreams of playing at Anfield, is Liverpool’s current transfer stance.

The Reds do not have the financial firepower to beat out United for the winger, unless they sell their top stars.

Sadio Mane and Mo Salah have both been linked with moves to Spain. But the likelihood is that both will line-up for the Reds again next season.

That will leave Sancho either sticking with Dortmund for another campaign, or seemingly biting his lip and heading to United.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have been linked with a surprise move for Watford attacker Ismaila Sarr, with Sadio Mane playing a major role in any deal. Read more…
