Breel Embolo: Striker in action for Switzerland at Euro 2016

Schalke have taunted Arsenal and Manchester United after beating the duo to the signing of FC Basel striker Breel Embolo.

Switzerland international Embolo is understood to have attracted interest from a host of top clubs around Europe, including Barcelona, Arsenal and Manchester United.

However Bundesliga outfit Schalke have won the race to sign the 19-year-old, who has signed a five-year deal and joins for a fee understood to be in the region of €25million.

And in announcing the signing, Schalke tweeted a video featuring the crests of all the clubs they have beaten to land the forward, who was part of the Switzerland team which lost on penalties to Poland in Euro 2016.

Embolo’s arrival, meanwhile, could further pave the way for Leroy Sane to join Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola understood to be a keen admirer of the 20-year-old forward.
