Aguero sets surprise condition for next club, considers new Prem suitors

Tottenham have entered the race to sign Sergio Aguero when he leaves Manchester City at the end of the season, according to reports.
Aguero’s departure from City was recently confirmed, with the striker now in the final few months of his contract. But after he leaves the club at the end of the season, there could still be a chance for him to remain in the Premier League with someone else.
Aguero has proven himself as one of the Premier League’s greatest ever strikers in his decade with City. He is their all-time leading goalscorer, but has struggled this season.
Injuries have halted his progress in recent months and he has only scored one league goal this season. That was a penalty against relegation-threatened Fulham.
Hence, City have decided to move on from Aguero at the end of the campaign. The 32-year-old will be one of the most in-demand free agents on the market.
Determined to prove a point, there is every chance that Aguero could stay in Europe. What’s more, his next club could be another one in the Premier League.
Chelsea have been linked with the South American, for example, as they search for a new striker. Aguero would be a much cheaper alternative to main targets Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku.
Mikel Arteta has also faced questions about whether Arsenal could try to sign him. Arteta worked with Aguero when he was a coach at City, but was coy on the links.
Another manager to play down talk of a move for Aguero was Manchester United’s Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Norwegian insisted he values loyalty and wouldn’t expect a long-serving rival to show any interest in moving across Manchester.
That has narrowed Aguero’s options down, but according to the Telegraph, he still has plenty to choose from.

Pep Guardiola: I was honest with Aguero
Pep Guardiola discusses the conversation he had with Sergio Aguero and says the striker's departure from Manchester City was the right decision for the club.
The newspaper claims that Aguero is so keen to prove a point that he is willing to join a Premier League team even if they don’t qualify for the Champions League. That has opened the door for Tottenham to swoop in.
Spurs are currently sweating over the future of Harry Kane, who will not make a decision about his future until after Euro 2020. He has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, or even Man City to replace Aguero.
Aguero considering Tottenham
Now, there is a chance that the former Atletico Madrid striker could move the other way. The Telegraph claim Aguero would consider either Tottenham or Chelsea.
With 181 Premier League goals to his name, Aguero is the competition’s fourth-highest scorer of all time. He is only six goals away from matching Andy Cole in third place. If he can manage an injury-free season, would have a good chance of getting there.
Hence, he could seek to stay in the Premier League and increase his personal tally even further.

However, Aguero does have suitors abroad as well. Compatriot Lionel Messi would welcome him to Barcelona, for example. In addition, reports have suggested Inter Milan could target him if they have to sell Romelu Lukaku, who has admirers at the Etihad Stadium.
Aguero is free to discuss terms with other clubs now that a matter of months remain on his deal with City. Hence, his entourage will no doubt be exploring their options.
