Man Utd star’s wife demands ‘respect’ for husband in raging statement

The wife of Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero has demanded that his club “respect” her husband by granting him a move away.
Romero has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford and did not secure a much-linked move away on deadline day.
Indeed Everton scrambled to bring in support for Jordan Pickford and eventually landed Robin Olsen on loan from Roma.
As such, Argentina international Romero remained at the club he signed for in 2015 and chances for game time appear limited.
Taking to Instagram before the transfer window shut, Romero’s wife, Eliana Guercio, hit out at United’s treatment of her husband.
She wrote (via the Daily Mail): “Sergio Romero worked hard for his club. Last trophy they won, they lifted it with him.
“He helped the team reach 4 finals/semi finals and then he was left on the bench only to lose them all.
“It is time for them to return the opportunity and let him go. RESPECT FOR ONCE!!!!’.”
Romero started United’s triumphant 2017 Europa League final over Ajax but has continued to have a bit-part role in proceedings at Old Trafford.
Indeed David de Gea remains the Red Devils‘ number one choice despite his continued mixed form. The Spaniard’s form has dipped since the 2018 World Cup but he has retained Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s faith.
Meanwhile, Solskjaer has bolstered his ranks by keeping Dean Henderson at Old Trafford.
The Englishman spent the last two seasons on loan at Sheffield United before deciding to stay in Manchester.
Man Utd complete Alex Telles
United proved to be one of the busiest Premier League clubs on deadline day.
Among their signings was left-back Alex Telles, who moved from Porto on a four-year contract.
The 27-year-old has revealed how Solskjaer’s long-term plan convinced him to move to the English top flight.
