Baba Rahman: Defender moves back to Germany

Lazio are ready to set to make a £13million bid to sign Chelsea misfit Baba Rahman, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Serie A club believe they can pick up the 21-year-old for a bargain fee after a nondescript first season in the Premier League.

Rahman made 11 Premier League starts and four sub appearances in the Premiert League last term after his £21.7million arrival from Augsburg last summer.

The left-back found it difficult to dislodge Cesar Azpilicueta at left-back and now Lazio believe they can pick up Rahman for just £13million.

The report claims the player’s future under new coach Antonio Conte “looks to be bleak” and the Ghana international is keen to find somewhere to play first-team football.

Rahman revealed his frustrations at his lack of first-team action in January, but was convinced he would feature more in the second half of the season.

“Of course it’s frustrating for any footballer to sit in the stands,” Rahman told Bild. “It’s not something I’ve experienced a lot of.

“As a young player you have to get used to it, and I have to get accustomed to life at a big club and this world-class league.

“In my view, the first half year was quite okay. But in the second half I will definitely play more.
