Fenerbahce have submitted a loan-to-buy transfer offer for Liverpool attacker Xherdan Shaqiri amid uncertainty over his fee, a report claims.

The Switzerland international moved to Anfield in the summer of 2018 after Stoke’s relegation to the Championship. While he enjoyed his first season with the Reds, though, he has struggled to make his mark since. In fact, he only made 11 outings last season, remaining a fringe player this term.

As such, speculation has continually followed the attacker, with reports linking him with a move away.

In the past, he has had links with Roma and Sevilla. According to Turkish source Sabah, however, Fenerbahce have registered interest.

The Turkish giants have submitted their offer, which consists of a loan with a purchase obligation next summer.

The club initially wanted a permanent deal. Despite Liverpool setting his value at €7million (£6million), Fenerbahce reportedly feel that Shaqiri is ‘not a cheap player at all’.

As a result, they have switched focus by submitting the loan offer.

In any case, Shaqiri reportedly feels ‘unhappy’ at Liverpool and has instructed his agent to find him a new club this summer.

Liverpool have yet to respond to Fenerbahce’s offer, but reports claim that they are willing to offload the 29-year-old amid a host of potential exits.

Barcelona are willing let Ronald Koeman leave in order to bring back Pep Guardiola as Manchester City turn their attention to Jack Grealish, while Arsenal and Brighton remain locked in talks over a potential swap deal, all in today's transfer chatter.

Striker Divock Origi could also leave, as could loan stars Marko Grujic and Harry Wilson.

Liverpool will also look to sell goalkeeper Loris Karius after failing to do so last summer and a report claims that up to 12 players could go.

As for acquisitions, the Reds have already begun spending, with £36million splurged to bring Ibrahima Konate in from RB Leipzig.

Klopp makes Liverpool transfer decision

Meanwhile, Georginio Wijnaldum will leave Liverpool this summer, leaving a gap in Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.

Reports have linked Brighton’s Yves Bissouma with an Anfield switch to fill the void.

However, Klopp supposedly wants to trust the club’s younger stars to fill in rather than sanction another transfer.
