Sheyi Ojo signs Liverpool deal and moves out on loan

Sheyi Ojo TEAMtalk

Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo has signed a new contract and left on loan for Ligue 1 outfit Stade de Reims.

The 21-year-old has joined the French side, who have won two of their first three games, on a season-long loan.

“Sheyi Ojo has today signed a contract extension with Liverpool and joined Stade Reims on loan for the remainder of 2018-19,” read a statement on Liverpool’s website.

“The winger has committed his future to the Reds by penning the new deal before jetting out to France to link up with the Ligue 1 club.”

It’s not clear what length of deal Ojo has penned at Anfield, but after a decent pre-season his long-term future may well still lie with the Reds.

Ojo has made 13 competitive appearances for Liverpool, scoring once and he netted against Tranmere and Manchester United in pre-season, but has not been in Jurgen Klopp’s first-team thinking since the start of the Premier League season.

Ojo, who has been on loan at Wigan, Wolves and last season at Fulham, made 22 Championship appearances for the promoted Cottagers, scoring four goals.
