Shock Lampard move as Watford man races onto Chelsea shortlist

Chelsea are among the clubs considering a move for Watford’s veteran goalkeeper Ben Foster to ease their concerns between the sticks, according to a report.
The Blues are reportedly keen on signing a new goalkeeper amid concerns about Kepa Arrizabalaga’s future.
The world’s most expensive player in his position has struggled for form, with Frank Lampard often choosing Willy Caballero ahead of him.
Previous reports have touted several replacements arriving at Stamford Bridge. Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak is one player allegedly on Lampard’s radar.
According to The Sun on Sunday, however, senior Chelsea figures have concerns about the Slovenian’s £100million-plus price tag.
As such, Lampard is allegedly considering a move for Hornets veteran Foster. The 37-year-old could be keen on a move back up to the Premier League after his side’s relegation.
The Englishman had a strong season for Watford despite their drop back down to the Championship. Now, several sides, including Chelsea, are reportedly keen.
Another team monitoring the player’s future is Everton. Boss Carlo Ancelotti wants competition for Jordan Pickford who, despite being a mainstay for the Toffees, has struggled for consistency.
The Sun‘s report also claims Lampard has thought about bringing Joe Hart to Stamford Bridge. The former Manchester City man is a free agent after leaving Burnley and wants regular first-team action.
As for Everton, the Toffees are also reportedly considering a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero.
Romero has proved a solid deputy to David de Gea in recent years but he has reportedly become frustrated at his lack of action.
Indeed, he reportedly felt unhappy at not getting a chance during De Gea’s recent poor patch.
CHELSEA CLOSE TO DEFENDER MOVE?
Meanwhile, reports claim Chelsea are close to sealing a move for a Brighton star to bolster their defence.
As well as their goalkeeping issues, defence has also proved a concern for the Blues. Lampard’s men conceded 54 Premier League goals last season, the most of any side in the top 10.
However, the latest speculation claims the west London club are close to a £40million deal to solve their problems.
