Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia could seal transfers away from Stamford Bridge for six loan stars in order to raise funds for Erling Haaland, a report claims.

Haaland has become one of the world’s most hottest properties with his spellbinding rise since 2019. The 20-year-old has alerted Europe’s top clubs to a potential deal, including Chelsea and Manchester City. What’s more, Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League exit on Wednesday has cast further doubt over his future.

The Bundesliga club sit fifth in the German top flight, seven points behind fourth. As such, securing top European football for their top talent looks a tough ask.

Haaland has a release clause of around £65million next summer, as per a clause in his contract. However, reports have outlined how clubs are lining up to pay over £100million for him before then.

Chelsea are one such side, with owner Roman Abramovich making it his personal mission to sign the Norwegian.

According to Football London, offloading six players who are out on loan away from Chelsea will help raise funds.

Midfielder Ross Barkley is the first of those players. The England international, who is at Aston Villa, impressed early on but injury has hampered his progress and TEAMtalk understands that West Ham have registered interest.

Furthermore, the 27-year-old earns £100,000 per week at Chelsea, so freeing up such space on the wage bill and securing a solid transfer fee could prove worthwhile.

Graeme Souness and Darren Bent discuss Chelsea after their impressive 4-1 victory against Crystal Palace and whether Erling Haaland should be their number one transfer target in the summer.

Fellow midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is also on the list of potential departures.

The Frenchman has not played for the Blues since the 2018 FA Cup final victory over Manchester United in 2018.

Indeed, he has since left for spells with AC Milan, Monaco and most recently Napoli.

Four more on Chelsea transfer list

Elsewhere, Victor Moses, Danny Drinkwater, Michy Batshuayi and Ike Ugbo could all leave permanently this summer.

Moses is at Spartak Moscwow, Batshuayi is with Crystal Palace while Drinkwater is trying to resurrect his career with Kasimpasa in Turkey.

Finally, 22-year-old Ugbo is perhaps the most intriguing player who could leave.

The striker has been with Chelsea since Under-10 level and has scored 16 goals in 33 games for Cercle Brugge this term. As such, Fulham are among the teams eyeing his services according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
