Solskjaer already knows Man Utd starting XIs for each game this month

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attention to detail ahead of a crucial run of fixtures for Manchester United has led the Norwegian to admit he knows his starting XI for the next month ahead.

Since being parachuted in as a replacement for the axed Jose Mourinho, United have embarked on an impressive run of form that has seen the club collect nine wins in 10 games to reignite their hopes of a top-four finish and possible Champions League progress

Their impressive form has seen them close the gap on fourth-placed Chelsea to just two points; even Gary Neville now thinks it’s a straight shootout between the two clubs for the remaining fourth Champions League place this season.

After failing to outsprint their opponents in the first 14 matches of the season, they have now done that in their last five games under Solskjaer.

And the Norwegian admits he has to change his style depending on who United face – but he insists he knows his starting line-ups for the next month’s worth of matches.

“You have to change it a little bit and that’s what we did [in their draw against Burnley]. We found a way of playing our way in,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports.

“You have got to have different ways of winning games and with our squad you can pick players who suit this team and that team.

“I knew the gaffer was like that. I have always been like this myself back home in Molde. It was different at Cardiff because you had to take one game at a time and try to claw a point here or there.

“But now you do plan ahead and I think I have got my team quite ready for the full month. Depending on form as well, I think I have more or less picked my team.

“We have put ourselves in a great position and in a great vein of form. We are confident, we trust ourselves, and we are ready for these games now.”
