United should throw the kids in

Moral – Naa I don’t think these lads have it in them now. They’ve lost every single bit of credit they gained in that period when Ole joined. They’re a shambles right now, like a punch drunk boxer clinging onto his opponent wishing the whistle would bring it all to a stop – the club needs the summer to come right now.
I cannot believe for a second that a ‘team’ putting in that performance against a sh*te Everton side, would somehow be able to match City 4 days later. It would actually be a disgrace if they did! I wouldn’t be surprised to see us lose to City and Chelsea and struggle against Huddersfield and Cardiff. Some of those players need to have their contracts torn up and the other need a f**kin rocket up their arse!

My team for the remaining games would be;

Romero

Dalot, Bailly, Lindelof, Shaw

McTominay, Garner

Chong Gomes

Greenwood

There is a problem with playing too many youth at once; if they lose badly it could damage their confidence long term. Probably better to bring through one or two at a time.

Would love to see them get game time from the bench though.

Think Sanchez will come back for City. At least he put some effort in when he came on.

Feel sorry for Fred, as he was no way the worst midfielder on Sunday, but Ole took him off and then, following that ‘some players won’t be here next season’ rant you have to think he was talking about those he subbed.

I’m with those who want us to lose. I don’t give a f*ck whether we finish top four or not and whilst I hate that horrible narcissistic grease ball Guardiola, the season just hinges on the scousers not winning the league now for me. And if Phelan gets the Technical Director or DoF job or whatever the f*ck they want to call it, i’m done with United.

jm1502

What annoys me is when people talk about Citys spending. Yes they spent, but the f*ckers earn their money. You can’t hold that against them, they don’t play for money, they work like f*cking dogs. They graft till the last minute, hard work first then the silky football.

Leaders required at Old Trafford

Matthijs de Ligt TEAMtalk

We need some young, exciting players to take us forward in the long run but we also need leaders. It doesn’t necessarily mean they have to be close to or above 30 as Roy Keane, for example, was already a man and a real leader in his early twenties. Sadly, there aren’t many of those around and certainly none at United. De Ligt at Ajax is an obvious exception but he’s as likely to want to join the Old Trafford sh*t show as Liverpool fans want Gary Neville to take over from Klopp this summer.

There’s no point trying to attract top talent when the supposed role-models in the squads are poisonous snakes who only look out for themselves. The elder statesmen might try their best but are as useful on the pitch as an ashtray on a motorcycle meaning that the squad is full of either well-meaning crap or mercenaries who crap on the badge. The owners and board have let this go on for over a decade now and unless something drastically changes in the next few years it’ll only keep getting worse.

The Telegraph did a Keep or Sell analysis on Uniteds squad yesterday. It was done in the context of keeping some for a year before selling rather than immediately selling all the bad apples now.

The salaries players like De Gea and Pogba are looking just aren’t feasible. We need to get control of the wage bill. We have the highest salary cost in the game yet we are in the wilderness in football terms. And that is a big part of the problem.

A culture of rewarding failure has taken hold. De Gea wont get 400K a week at any other club, especially when you consider the cost of signing him. The club cant give in to player power. If players like Herrera and De Gea don’t want to resign for reasonable salaries then they can f*ck off.

N1xer

What I don’t get is why remuneration is all lumped together as a salary. If players got a lump sum signing on fee it would be easier to understand and not destroy a wage structure. Same goes for image rights, the players selling the most shirts should get a separate bonus for commercial contribution.

Chelsea defence hammered

Ashley-Barnes-David-Luiz-Burnley-Chelsea-1

I can’t sleep after yet another vital dropped points game, believe me it’s no fun, been meaning to say this for some time but our whole defence including those on the bench but bar Rüdiger has been rubbish this season. They can’t tackle, cross, mark and especially defend crosses, that’s the CL gone unless we manage to win the Europa. Can’t see us doing that with the likes of Luiz and co. at the back. Also why does the manager not appoint a decent corner taker, Hazards corners are the worse I have ever seen. It really makes me feel sick the way we played this season. Even in the start when we had a winning run we were lucky but once that luck is gone the truth is exposed.

Enough is enough. Not much matters now. I give up on trying to work this lot out when Sarri shows again he is got no f—ing idea and we zonal mark and donate ridiculous goals. I think I will save all my energy for next season when we have, hopefully, an intelligent manager at the helm. After this Sarri must surely go. Sad for Zola that he has to work with such an imbecile. What’s worse being up close to someone in the work place that probably reeks of ciggie smoke every day. Oh my, how revolting.

chelsea1967

Sarri just doesn’t learn from the same mistakes that he keeps making over and over again. Zonal marking at fault yet again, leaving players in dangerous key areas unmarked. Like for like subs again, when the game was crying out for width and extra attackers in the box. Constantly selecting players that are scared to attack or shoot, like Jorginho and Kovacic. Watch the body language of these two when we are pressing. They have no urgency and offer no threat on goal. Total recipe for disaster, and you wonder why this guy has never coached a team to win a trophy. We are such easy beats

chris451

Zonal marking?

Why do we switch to zonal marking when everyone else goes man for man. Pathetic goals to concede. well taken goal by Higuain but really he should not have started and you should go witrh the striker in form

Cannot blame Burnley as they needed the points and knew the best way to frustrate Chelsea and yet we had opportunities in the second half but did not take them

Last night was a game when I think that Sarri showed he is not up to it and has to go and yet we still managed to claw a point on all our rivals but really it was more like 2 points dropped

Losing both CHO and Kante was a real blow to us and will make life very difficult for next weekend

Absolutely frustrating and then to cap it all off a 30 minute walk and no bloody tube station was open. Great planning from someone….!!!! KTBFFH

CFC1905

The most annoying thing about last night is that we threw two points away thanks to our clueless marking.

If Wolves were to beat Arsenal and we were to beat United you never know but that’s two to many if’s and you just know that even if Wolves were to beat Arsenal we will give another two ridiculous goals away against United.

A team that concedes 5 goals at home in two consecutive games and 4 goals away in the second half against Bournemouth for goodness sake doesn’t deserve CL football.

Sort it “all” out Roman starting with yourself going missing all season!

Sarri time up

I think the club have been patient with Sarri and its clearly not going to work out, the problem is who else is there that will come to a club that plays only in the Europa and has a transfer ban whether its this season or next season makes little difference. I understand Maria is probably a very astute businesswoman but not so apt at choosing the right on field personnel.

Wonder what’s going through Roman’s mind right now. We in a very tricky position and no ones coming forward with any solutions for now anyway unless they talking behind close doors, don’t feel like they are.

Title battle

Jurgen Klopp TEAMtalk

Three games to go and hope, pray, whatever, that victory on Friday takes us either 5 points clear or 4 clear. I honestly think though City will win at OT and we retain top spot again by two points but one can only, well, hope and pray!

It was a beating of a game last time we played these back in October when Mo’s first half goal was just enough but three points was all that mattered and we got em and that’s how it’s gonna be for both us and City over the next several weeks.

Last season it took three second half goals to see of a resolute Huddersfield (Sturridge, Firmino and Wijnaldum). Our visitors have won one game since the 1st December losing 21/23 games since. Awful. Just one away win at Wolves (who’ve they’ve done the double over!….that’s not one for your CV is it?).

Question is which team will Klopp put out. I am expecting Fabinho to start after not completing the 90 minutes yesterday and start alongside Wijnaldum with Keita as the attacking mid. The front three as you were. Klopp will want points in the bag before the likes of Sturridge, Shaq or Origi come on but I wouldn’t be surprised to see one of those start.

Fully expecting 3 or 4-0 here.

This game could be the time to get some goals and close the gap in the goal difference, in case this comes into effect.

Do we go for it, a la the Crystal Palace game from 2014? Or rest a load of players for the upcoming Barca game?

Man united will have to react on Wednesday, so not sure what will happen. Do they get embarrassed again in the derby or put in a proper performance and get us a result? Hopefully the home truths will have been made clear to the players. Pogba already apologising in a recent interview and heavy criticism from past players.

City away to Burnley after that, where Burnley are already safe, so that will be a win for them.

United to down tools?

It’s unlikely but wouldn’t it be ironic if United downed tools against City only for City to drop points in one of their other remaining games and we still won the title whilst United ended up in the UL.

Must be a nightmare season for United as we have CL still in there too! I don’t buy their “let’s go into UL for one season” argument.

1. Less able to attract top quality players
2. Even if you do attract a top quality player, you may have to pay a premium to convince them to play in a non-CL participating transition team.
3. Thursday night games UL
4. Loss of income due to sponsorship agreements
5. Top players might become unsettled and demand to leave.

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face!
