Sources: Sheffield United, Luton ready to battle for experienced Premier League midfielder

Newly promoted duo Sheffield United and Luton Town are keen on signing an experienced Premier League midfielder, TEAMtalk understands.
James McArthur is the player in question, having left Crystal Palace after nine years at Selhurst Park following the end of the current campaign.
The 35-year-old Scottish ace is now considering his options, and he could now continue his career in the top-flight with both Town and United believed to be looking for more top-flight experience.
McArthur has scored 43 goals in 601 career appearances and was also capped 29 times by Scotland.
The Blades are back in the Premier League, having been relegated back in 2020/21.
Paul Heckingbottom has already begun to implement changes to his squad, with club legend Billy Sharp being released.
Jack O’Connell and Enda Stevens have also been allowed to move on, while the club have exercised the options on contracts for Oliver Norwood, Oliver McBurnie, Wes Foderingham and Ismaila Coulibaly.
As for Luton, they are will be back in the top flight for the first time since 1991 and have never featured in the current Premier League format.
The Hatters won promotion after beating Coventry City in the Championship play-off final.
