Spanish media in outlandish talk of Barcelona swap deal for Salah

Barcelona could offer Liverpool the chance to solve their goalkeeping woes by including Jasper Cillessen in a bid for Mohamed Salah, according to fanciful reports in Spain.

According to Don Balon, Barcelona are preparing a €100m offer for Salah, with €60m-rated Cillessen also included in the deal.

The La Liga champions fear they are set to miss out on Antoine Griezmann, and are instead readying an approach for Salah as an ambitious alternative.

Premier League golden boot winner Salah had given Liverpool optimism in their bid to keep him by snubbing Real Madrid, and it’s unlikely Barcelona’s reported interest in the Egyptian would give supporters too many sleepless nights.

The player’s agent was quick to dismiss talk of Barcelona’s reported interest when it first surfaced last week.

However, it’s claimed Barcelona believe the inclusion of want-away keeper Cillessen would sweeten any deal with Liverpool.

Cillessen has confirmed his desire to leave Barcelona to friends, after being limited to just one La Liga start last season, and Jurgen Klopp is said to be keen on the player, having switched his attentions away from Roma keeper Alisson.

Liverpool are in the market for a new number one after Loris Karius’ costly mistakes in the Champions League final. Reports on Wednesday also suggested Liverpool were looking at Lazio’s Thomas Strakosha as an option.
