SPFL confirms final day times

The game between champions Hearts and play-off hopefuls Rangers had initially been moved forward 24 hours but after some clubs had questioned this switch, the authorities have reverted to the original schedule.

An SPFL spokesperson said: “Following consultation between the SPFL, member clubs and broadcast partners regarding the final round of Championship fixtures over the weekend of 2 & 3 May 2015, Sky Sports has now suggested an alternative schedule for its televised Championship match that weekend.

“As a result, we are pleased to confirm all five Championship matches that weekend will now kick off simultaneously at 12.15pm on Saturday 2 May.

“The SPFL would like to thank Sky Sports for its flexibility and understanding and we’re sure all football fans will look forward to an exciting climax to the Championship season.”

Meanwhile, SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster has said no decision has been taken over whether the end-of-season play-offs will be rescheduled becasue of Hibernian and Falkirk’s Scottish Cup involvement.

One or other of the two Championship clubs – who meet in the Scottish Cup semi-final this weekend – could be scheduled to play in the Scottish Cup Final and the play-offs on the same weekend, on Saturday May 30.

Doncaster told Sky Sports News HQ: The situation may be slightly clearer after the weekend but we do have a plan B to avoid a clash. We will look at the situation on Monday after the cup finalists have been decided and we will address the issue then.”
