Spurs are set to be disappointed in their pursuits of a €100m-rated midfield duo, if the latest reports are to be believed.
Reports have linked Tottenham with moves for both Ajax playmaker Frenkie De Jong and Inter Milan star Marcelo Brozovic.
However, a report from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claims that De Jong is set to snub interest from both Spurs and PSG in order to seal a €50m move to Barcelona.
The 21-year-old was reportedly close to a move to the Nou Camp this summer, until the young star decided to stay put and continue his education with the Dutch giants.
Part of De Jong’s reasoning was Ajax’s qualification for the Champions League, where his side have been paired with Bayern Munich, AEK Athens and Benfica in Group E.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan are set for talks with Brozovic a new deal amid claims that he is a €50m January target for Tottenham.
The Croatia international was apparently a summer target for the north London side amid claims Inter were looking to offload a number of stars in order to finance a move for Luka Modric.
It is claimed by Calciomercato that the Serie A side will sit down with the player to discuss a new deal, possibly one with no release clause (currently €50m) or one significantly higher.
